WHO'S YOUR BAGHDADDY? OR HOW I STARTED THE IRAQ WAR to Close This Month Off-Broadway; Plans Fall 2016 Return

By:

The Off-Broadway hit and New York Times Critic's Pick WHO'S YOUR BAGHDADDY? OR HOW I STARTED THE IRAQ WAR a new musical by Marshall Pailet and A.D. Penedo will end its current run at the Actors Temple, as originally planned, on November 22, 2015 with plans to bring the show back to NYC Fall of 2016.

Directed by Marshall Pailet with musical direction by Rona Siddiqui and choreography by Misha Shields, WHO'S YOUR BAGHDADDY? OR HOW I STARTED THE IRAQ WAR is based on a screenplay by J.T. Allen and began performances on September 26, opening to unanimous critical raves on October 4 at the Actors Temple Theater (339 W 47th St.).

Inspired by a true story, WHO'S YOUR BAGHDADDY? is a new musical comedy, presented as a support group for people who started the Iraq War. Dark, boisterous and irreverent, the story follows a handful of mid-level spies whose vanity and office politics contributed to the worst intelligence blunder in modern history.

"Our eight week run was an unqualified artistic success. In addition to being a New York Times Critics Pick, we had over a dozen other rave reviews. Everyone who saw the show loved it. We are now in discussions about a commercial production in 2016, and we hope to announce a licensing deal shortly," said The New Musical Foundation's Producing Artistic Director, Charlie Fink. "This is an important true story, delivered with humor and empathy that needs to be told over and over."

"Thanks to a brilliant script and flawless execution by our creative team and the commitment and artistry of our ensemble cast, 'Who's Your Baghdaddy?" stood out in a crowded season. We are incredibly proud of the show, and excited about its future," said Producer, Lee Seymour.

Cast includes: Brennan Caldwell (Regional: Urinetown. NBC's "The Sing-Off"); Jason Collins (National Tour: Annie; NYC: Signs of Life); Bob D'Haene (The Three Times She Knocked), Brandon Espinoza (Broadway: Gypsy, Big, Les Miserables); Olli Haaskivi (NYC: Saturday Night; Film: The Funeral Guest); Nehal Joshi (Broadway: Les Miserables, The Threepenny Opera); Claire Neumann (NYC: Triassic Parq). Larisa Oleynik (Nickelodeon's "The Secret World of Alex Mack" Film: 10 Things I Hate About You); Creative team includes: Bob Drogin (Creative Consultant), Nora Ives (Associate Director), Hope Villanueva (Production Stage Manager), Daryl Eisenberg (Casting) WHO'S YOUR BAGHDADDY?
