What We Wanted, a new play written by David Harms (pictured, left) will have its premiere at The Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street), directed by Drew Foster. What We Wanted is set for a limited engagement now through January 15, 2017, with opening night set for tonight, January 5, 2017.

Set in a small college town in Ohio, What We Wanted is a new play about a three-person marriage struggling to stay intact as forces inside and out tear it apart. Julian is a professor, whose sexual relationship with his mentee causes strife as she files a suit for misconduct. Agnes receives a promotion to become editor of the magazine she works for but must move away from her family in order to accept. Sally helps her daughter's boyfriend, Dale, study for the GED, but crosses boundaries with the frail young man and Reggie exacts revenge on her mother for abandoning her to live with Agnes and Julian.

The cast for What We Wanted features Steven Hauck (Irena's Vow) as 'Julian,' Elizabeth Rich (Rx) as 'Agnes,' Amy Bodnar (Oklahoma) as 'Sally,' Brandon Espinoza (Tuck Everlasting) as 'Dale,' and Kerry Warren (The River) as 'Reggie.'

What We Wanted features set design by Deb O (Balm In Gilead), lighting design by Paul Miller (Amazing Grace, Legally Blonde), costumes by Gregory Gale (Rock of Ages, Urinetown), and original music and sound by Erik T. Lawson (The Effect). The stage manager is Abigail StrangE. Craig Divino serves as executive producer and Brian Drummy and Jason Modica as associate producers.

The performance schedule for What We Wanted is as follows: Tuesday, January 3 at 7pm; Wednesday, January 4 at 8pm; Thursday, January 5 at 8pm; Friday, January 6 at 8pm; Saturday, January 7 at 2pm & 8pm; Wednesday, January 11 at 8pm; Thursday, January 12 at 8pm; Friday, January 13 at 8pm; Saturday, January 14 at 2pm & 8pm; Sunday, January 15 at 3pm. DAVID HARMS (Playwright) practices law in New York City and lives in Pelham, NY. What We Wanted is his first play to be produced. It was a semi-final entry in the 2015 Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Conference.

Drew Foster (Director). On Broadway he appeared in Doctor Zhivago (dir. Des McAnuff). Off-Broadway credits include The Public, Cherry Lane, NYTW, & Red Bull. Regional credits include Shakespeare Theatre of DC (Taming of the Shrew); Dallas Theater Center (Romeo and Juliet); The Old Globe (The Last Goodbye, dir. Alex Timbers, chor. Sonya Tayeh); The MUNY (West Side Story andGrease); WCBTT (The Whipping Man); Shakespeare Santa Cruz (All's Well... and Bach at Leipzig); Florida Studio Theater (The Goat or, Who Is Sylvia? and Rabbit Hole). He spent five seasons with The Asolo Rep, where his credits include Diary of Anne Frank and Merry Wives of Windsor (dir. Daniel Fish). His directing credits include Chautauqua Theater Company, Juilliard, and Bucks County Playhouse, and as Artistic Director of Shakespeare at the Manor, Love's Labour's Lost, A Midsummer Night's Dream, MacBeth, and Much Ado About Nothing. At the Juilliard School he received the Houseman Award.
