By:

Daniel Beaty, writer and star of the acclaimed solo show Through the Night, received two prestigious honors on Monday, November 15. The first of these honors, the 2010 Voice of Change Award, was bestowed upon Mr. Beaty at the first-ever Summit on Children of Incarcerated Parents. The Voice of Change Award is given to a person whose work creates change in the lives of children and the world at large. Later, on Monday evening, Mr. Beaty won the 2010 AUDELCO Recognition Award for Outstanding Solo Performance. His fellow nominees in the category included Colman Domingo (A Boy and His Soul), Perri Gaffney (The Resurrection of Alice), Anna Deavere Smith (Let Me Down Easy), and Charlayne Woodard (The Night Watcher).

Daryl Roth, in association with Jana Robbins, presents Through the Night, the acclaimed solo show written and performed by Daniel Beaty, in an extended run Off Broadway, now playing at The Union Square Theatre. Directed by Charles Randolph-Wright, Through the Night opened on September 26, 2010 to rave reviews.

The production has made it a priority to get reach students and, to that end, have launched the Shine the Light Project. Shine the Light is a special educational outreach program dedicated to providing tri-state, inner-city students who would be otherwise unable to afford the $25 student price the opportunity to experience Through the Night by fully underwriting the cost of their tickets. Contributions to Shine the Light can be made by visiting www.throughthenightonstage.com and clicking on the "Education" tab.

Tickets, priced at $65.00 are available via Ticketmaster.com / (800) 982-2787 and in person at The Union Square Theatre Box Office (100 E. 17th Street, NYC).
