Vital Theatre Company is pleased to announce the opening of its final show in the 2008-2009 season, The Top Job, music by Brian Feinstein, book and lyrics by Robin Moyer Chung, and direction by Tamara Fisch. The Top Job is adapted from the book by Elizabeth Cody Kimmel with illustrations by Robert Neubecker.
"In The Top Job it's career day at school and after hearing that her classmates' parents are UFO Hunters, Giant Noses, and Investment Bankers Jenna is afraid to tell her class about her father's boring old job. After an adventure through New York City with her father and little brother, Jenna discovers that sometimes the simplest jobs are actually the most important!" describe press notes
Featured in the cast are Julie Goldin, Andy Lindberg, Rob Morrison, Mychal Phillips, Roderick Justice, Tom Waltz and Natalie Bird. The production stage manager is Kara Teolis, the music director is Jad Bernardo and the choreographer is Sabrina Jacob. The design team includes sets by Jesse Poleshuck, costumes by Brittany Jones-Pugh and lighting by Christina Watanabe.
The Top Job runs March 8th through April 27th Saturdays and Sundays at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. There will be additional weekday performances April 22nd and April 24th at 1:00 pm. All tickets are $18.00 and shows are appropriate for children ages 3 to 11 years old.
Post-show workshops, entitled "The Light at the Top," will be held on March 15th at 2pm, April 22nd at 2pm, and April 24th at 2:00 pm. Following the performance, workshop admission is an additional $20 per child and space is limited to 25 participants, appropriate for ages 6 and up.
