THROUGH THE NIGHT To Return To Off-Broadway, Begins 1/24/2011

By: Dec. 06, 2010

Producer Daryl Roth announced today that, due to popular demand, Daniel Beaty's award-winning solo show Through the Night will return to Off-Broadway in the New Year. Through the Night will be presented on Monday nights at The Westside Theatre (407 W. 43rd Street), beginning on Monday, January 24, 2o11. This run follows on the heels of its acclaimed production at the Union Square Theatre, which played its final performance on Sunday, December 5.

"Because of my deep belief in this work, the incredible critical response, the nightly standing ovations, and the powerful word of mouth, it was important to me to continue to provide a home for this extraordinary theatrical experience," Ms. Roth said. "Through The Night has reached so many people already, including some two-thousand students through our Shine the Light Program. I am confident there are many more who will be entertained, moved and inspired by the play's power and passion."

Six characters. Three generations. One unforgettable performance. Mr. Beaty portrays an entire cast of characters, from inquisitive boy to elder preacher, spinning a tale in which lives collide to show how hope, faith and love can pull anyone Through the Night. The New York Times calls it, "a thing of beauty, wit, grit and piercing lyricism."

Directed by Charles Randolph-Wright, Through the Night's creative team includes Alexander V. Nichols (Scenic, Projection, and Lighting Design) and Lindsay Jones (Original Music, Sound Design). Through the Night is produced in association with Jana Robbins.

The Shine the Light Project, the educational outreach program formed to underwrite student tickets to the Through the Night, continues to seek funding from foundations, corporations, and private donors, and will continue accepting school groups from local Title 1 schools for the duration of the run. Contributions to Shine the Light can be made by visiting throughthenightonstage.com and clicking on the "Education" tab.

Tickets, priced at $39 ($25 with valid student I.D.), will go on sale on December 17 via Telecharge.com / (212) 239-6200. Through the Night will play consecutive Monday nights at 8:00 P.M. at The Westside Theatre's Downstairs stage, where Love, Loss, and What I Wore plays Tuesday through Sunday.
