THINGS TO RUIN Returns to The Zipper Theatre Starting 10/31

By:

Things To Ruin, an incendiary collection of songs by Joe Iconis returns to play a limited, four-performance run at The Zipper Factory (336 West 37th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues).  The musical, directed by John Simpkins (Theatreworks USA’s The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks) will be performed Friday, October 31 at 8:00 p.m.; Friday, November 14 at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, November 22 at 8:00 p.m. & Friday, November 28 at 8:00 p.m.

Things To Ruin is a theatrical rock concert about human beings who are messy, emotional, drugged up, knocked down, inspired, electric and who don’t have nearly enough time to cause the kind of commotion they so desperately need to.  Performed by a cast of viciously talented young singers and a highly flammable four-piece band led by Joe himself, Things to Ruin rocks with an occasionally profane and always heartfelt explosion of music and high drama.  Things To Ruin has been seen previously at Ars Nova and Joe's Pub.

The cast of Things To Ruin features Nick Blaemire, Katrina Rose Dideriksen, Badia Farha, Sarah Glendening, Ian Kagey, Lance Rubin, Brent Stranathan, Mike Pettry,  Eric William Morris and Jason “SweetTooth” Williams.

This production of Things To Ruin is presented by Sara Katz.

Joe Iconis is a recipient of the 2006 Jonathan Larson Award, the 2007 Ed Kleban Award and a Backstage Bistro Award.  He is currently involved in the development of several musicals, including The Black Suits (music and lyrics by Joe, book by Joe and Robert Maddock), a rock musical about high school garage band. Other projects include: The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks (Theatreworks USA); A Joe Iconis Mini-Musical Triple Feature (Ars Nova); PLASTIC! The Musical (music by Joe and Reza Jacobs, book by Robert Maddock), recipient of a 2006 Daryl Roth Award; Triumphant Baby! (music by Joe, lyrics by Robert Maddock), seen at the Metropolitan Room and the York Theatre, directed by Brad Oscar.  Joe is a graduate of the NYU Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program.  For more information, visit www.MrJoeIconis.com.

Tickets to Things To Ruin are $20 and are available in advance via telephone at 212-352-3101 or online at www.thezipperfactory.com.
