Holy Pronouns! Promiscuous Novels! Murder by Semantics!

Written and Directed by Julian Mesri

The New York debut of Argentine-American playwright/director Julian Mesri is an absurd romp featuring an ex-King who recovers from the humiliation of having lost his Kingdom by becoming God - just by saying that he is. A play that shows how language both grounds and disassembles belief, the King in Exile is an operatic comedy and a theo-philosophical manifesto rolled up into one.

Starring:
Austin Tidwell as The (ex) KING
Manisha Snoyer as his undersexed QUEEN
Chris Masullo his doting SUBJECT who lives next door
Katie Iacona as his WIFE (who may or may not exist)
Ian Quinlan as the AMBASSADOR from his old Kingdom, bent on revenge!

Written and Directed by Julian Mesri
Assistant Director: Naren Henry
Set Design: Kate Foster
Light Design: Lisa Hufnagel
