Harry Boychick - the great grandson of Grandma Sylvia -- remember her funeral? -- is becoming a man and ALMOST everyone is invited to his Bar Mitzvah! Invitations to The Boychick Affair-The Bar Mitzvah of Harry Boychick -- one of the most anticipated Bar Mitzvahs of the 21st century - are going out now! Everyone - including A-Listers -- will be welcome.

Bring a guest (or guests) to join Harry and his family at this ancient Hebrew rite and the family party/squabble that follows. The place is The Times Square Arts Center (www.timessquareartscenter.com), 669 Eighth Avenue, in New York City, and the parties began on the July 4th weekend. There will be two Bar Mitzvah parties every weekend -- Saturdays at 6:30 PM and Sundays at 3 PM - through September 6, 2009 -- with the possibility of an extension.

Created by Amy Lord, creator of the beloved off-Broadway smash hit Grandma Sylvia's Funeral and former star of the legendary Tony & Tina's Wedding, The Boychick Affair will make its New York debut direct from Los Angeles where it has enjoyed a sold-out engagement for more than two years. It is a hilarious interactive comedy show that gives new meaning to the phrase "dysfunctional family."

At The Boychick Affair, audience members mingle, eat, sing, dance and laugh with the actors, and much like a real Bar Mitzvah, ‘guests' will enjoy a delicious Bar Mitzvah meal - including the famous Dessert Cart - at the ‘reception' portion of the show. From Harry Boychick's unique Bar Mitzvah ceremony to the raucous reception following, the play tells the story of 15 different characters dealing with comedic and contemporary issues in very exciting and humorous ways.

The cast of the New York production of The Boychick Affair includes:

Amy Lord as mother Cheryl Boychick

Greg Mikurak as Harry Boychick Affair

According to creator Amy Lord, "As a New York native, I am thrilled to be coming home to share my fondest memories of my youth with New Yorkers and others who will be able to recapture some of their own childhood in this show."

Ticket prices for The Boychick Affair are $72 per person which includes a full buffet meal. Group and senior prices are $65.00 per person. For group reservations, contact Heather at 1-866-999-6929 and for individual tickets contact Brown Paper Tickets at 1-800-838-3006. (Bar Mitzvah gifts for Harry are NOT recommended. He already has enough fountain pens to open his own stationary store!)
