PTP/NYC announced today that Stephanie Janssen has joined the cast of Howard Barker's The Castle and will perform in select shows in the role of Skinner. Stephanie Janssen's Broadway credits include recent productions of Death of a Salesman and Mrs. Warren's Profession (Roundabout), and her Off-Broadway credits include Clive (The New Group), Ivanov (Classic Stage Company), Territories (PTP/NYC) and Crave (PTP/NYC).

The New York Premiere of Howard Barker's The Castle, directed by PTP's Co-Artistic Director Richard Romagnoli, is part of PTP/NYC's 27th repertory season, along with the company's revival of last season's acclaimed production of Caryl Churchill's Serious Money, directed by PTP's Co-Artistic Director Cheryl Faraone.

The season continues through August 4 in a limited Off-Broadway engagement at The Atlantic Stage 2, located at 330 West 16th Street between 8th & 9th Avenues in New York City. Tickets are $30 and $15 for students and seniors and can be purchased online at http://PTPNYC.org or by calling 1-866-811-4111. For more information visit http://PTPNYC.org.

Howard Barker's The Castle is an epic work, blasting apart - with humor and violence - the boundaries of desire, pain, and sexuality. After an absence of 7 years, a group of Crusaders returns 'home' to find authority, religion, and human relations all upended and a new society established by the women who have been left behind. The battle lines are drawn immediately.

The Castle began previews on July 4 for a July 10 opening and runs through August 4. Remaining performances take place on Tue 7/23 at 7:30pm, Thu 7/25 at 7:30pm, Sat 7/27 at 7:30pm, Sun 7/28 at 7:30pm, Tue 7/30 at 7:30pm, Fri 8/2 at 7:30pm, Sat 8/3 at 2pm, Sun 8/4 at 2pm.

In a scathing satire set in the trading pits and boardrooms of London's financial district, acclaimEd English playwright Caryl Churchill tackles the insider trading, corporate raiding and leveraged buyouts of the late '80s. Churchill's acidly funny, cocaine-fueled ride examines the abuses of power, greed and sexual politics that continue to resonate with the current global financial crisis. Fiercely witty and shockingly prophetic, Serious Money also features music and lyrics by Ian Dury, Micky Gallagher and Chas Jankel.

Serious Money began previews July 3 for a July 9 opening and runs through August 4. Remaining performances take place on Wed 7/24 at 2pm, Wed 7/24 at 7:30pm, Fri 7/26 at 7:30pm, Sat 7/27 at 2pm, Sun 7/28 at 2pm, Wed 7/31 at 7:30pm, Thu 8/1 at 7:30pm, Sat 8/3 at 7:30pm, Sun 8/4 at 7:30pm.

PTP/NYC continues to redefine political theatre for the 21st century with an annual month long repertory season. The company's mandate is the presentation of highly theatrical and thought-provoking work of contemporary social and cultural relevance. In its 26 seasons the voices of PTP's writers have addressed art, pornography, AIDS, homelessness, censorship, totalitarianism, apartheid and gender wars.
