Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announced today that they will kick off the new year with the F*!@cking Good Plays (festival) - five (5) days of new play readings by eight (8) of today's hottest playwrights. The festival, to be presented at Rattlestick Theatre (224 Waverly Place - off 7th Avenue South between West 11th & Perry Streets), will begin on Wednesday, January 6th and continue through Sunday, January 10th, 2010. Playwrights include: David Anzuelo, James Armstrong, Laura Eason, Matt Gould, Griffin Matthews, Charlotte Miller, Heidi Schreck, and Daniel Talbott. The readings will be directed by Kip Fagan, Jackson Gay, Sam Gold, Ken Kaissar, Kirsten Kelly and Pedro Pascal.

The F*!@cking Good Plays (festival) performance schedule is as follows:

January 6: 3pm - There Are No More Big Secrets, by Heidi Schreck.
Directed by Keith Fagan.
7pm - Sam and Gus, by Daniel Talbott. Directed by Sam Gold.
January 7: 7pm - Plainfield Ace, by Laura Eason. Directed by Kirsten Kelly.
January 8: 7pm - Killing Play, by David Anzuelo. Directed by Pedro Pascal.
January 9: 3pm - Raising Jo, by Charlotte Miller. Directed by Jackson Gay.
6pm - Witness Uganda, Written and directed by Matt Gould
and Griffin Matthews.
January 10: 3pm - The Metric System, by James Armstrong. Directed by Ken Kaissar.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (Producer) is a multi award-winning company which has produced over forty-six world premieres in the past fifteen seasons and was the recipient of the 2007 Ross Wetzsteon Memorial OBIE Award for its work developing new and innovative work. Previous plays include The Pavilion, which received a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Play of 2005, Adam Rapp's American Sligo, Sheila Callaghan's That Pretty Pretty; Or, The Rape Play, Steven Belber's Geometry of Fire, Lucy Thurber's Killers and Other Family, the off-Broadway GLAAD Award-nominated hit The Last Sunday in June and Craig Wright's Lady, which received a Drama Desk and Drama League Award nomination for Outstanding Play of 2008.
