ROCK OR TREAT Family Musical Opens Off-Broadway This Weekend

Opening today, October 10th, ROCK OR TREAT is a live, not-so-scary Halloween family musical from award-winning international children's education group, FunikiJam. The open-ended run is the first for the multiple award-winning children's musical group.

ROCK OR TREAT is described as, "an interactive musical trip around the world with songs and dancing for the whole family."

Just in time for Halloween, Captain Jam and the Agents of JAM are launching high-energy globe-spanning musical adventures! They are looking for new recruits to help them on their mission to have FUN, JAM and LEARN about the WORLD. New recruits are invited to dance, laugh and sing along as the team Rock or Treats destinations around the world -- even inviting some to come onstage to tap a drum, tell a joke, or sing into a microphone. Together -- with imagination, interactive music, colorful costumes, and engaging props -- kids help Captain Jam and the Agents of JAM complete their mission as Junior Agents of JAM.

Created by Brian Barrentine, FunikiJam founder, Professor of Early Childhood Arts at NYU and Georgia native/Nashville Musician/New York Actor.

"At FunikiJam, we're on a mission to have fun, jam & learn about the world," says founder and creator Brian Barrentine. "Rock or Treat combines all the best elements of our classes and concerts and allow kids (of all ages) to join in the fun. Come in costume! Dance! Sing! Get up and move along with us!"

Barrentine (aka Captain Jam) leads the award-winning cast, which includes musicians from Pink's World Tour, popular band O.A.R., Broadway Once, Elvis The Musical, and members of the Brooklyn Conservatory.

Now in their fifteenth year of classes and concerts, Funikijam continues it's mission to enhance developmental and social skills, and educate and socialize children with music. FunikiJam began in 1999 in Nashville, as a music-focused playgroup, and has evolved into an international early childhood education and entertainment organization, with an annual reach of over 70,000 patrons. From its NYC headquarters, FunikiJam delivers its trademark "music exploration for the next generation" internationally through live shows, musical recordings, YouTube, classes and training for grade schools.
