Previews begin this Saturday evening November 24 at 8PM for the Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) World Premiere of The Great God Pan, a new play by Obie Award winner Amy Herzog (After the Revolution at PH, 4000 Miles). Directed by Carolyn Cantor (After the Revolution and Essential Self-Defense at PH, Pumpgirl, Orange Water Flower), the production has an Opening Night set for Tuesday, December 18 at 7PM. The limited engagement will play through Sunday, January 6 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

The cast of The Great God Pan features Becky Ann Baker (Good People, All My Sons, Assassins), Tony Award nominee and Obie Award winner Peter Friedman (Ragtime, The Shaggs, After the Revolution, Circle Mirror Transformation and The Heidi Chronicles at PH), Olivier Award nominee Sarah Goldberg (Clybourne Park in London and the PH production on Broadway, The Dark Knight Rises), Keith Nobbs (Lombardi, columbinus, Lortel Award and Drama Desk Award nominee for Four), two-time Lortel Award nominee Jeremy Strong (the current film Lincoln, the upcoming series "L.A. Noir," Our House and Frank's Home at PH, The Coward, New Jerusalem) Joyce Van Patten (The People in the Picture, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Rumors) and Erin Wilhelmi (The Girl from Nowhere, Likeness, The Perks of Being a Wallflower).

Jamie's (Mr. Strong) life in Brooklyn seems just fine: a beautiful girlfriend (Ms. Goldberg), a budding journalism career, and parents (Ms. Baker and Mr. Friedman) who live just far enough away. But when a possible childhood trauma comes to light, lives are thrown into a tailspin. Unsettling and deeply compassionate, The Great God Pan tells the intimate tale of what is lost and won when a hidden truth is unloosed into the world.

The production features scenic design by Mark Wendland, costume design by Kaye Voyce, lighting design by Japhy Weideman and sound design by Darron L West. Production Stage Manager is Cole P. Bonenberger.

The performance schedule for The Great God Pan is Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7PM, Wednesdays through Fridays at 8PM, Saturdays at 2:30 PM & 8PM and Sundays at 2:30 PM & 7:30 PM with an additional performance on Monday evening, December 17 at 7PM. Single tickets, $70, may be purchased online via www.TicketCentral.com, by phone at (212) 279-4200 (Noon-8pm daily), or in person at the Ticket Central Box Office, 416 West 42nd Street (between Ninth & Tenth Avenues).
