When a tough-as-nails contractor Ms. Pawk finds her senses slipping on the brink of her daughter's Ms. Keenan-Bolger wedding, the impact on her family is nothing less than seismic.  A SMALL FIRE is a human parable in which unexpected loss leads to an unlikely love story.   Previews begin Thursday, December 16 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theatre.  Opening Night is set for Thursday, January 6 with a limited engagement through Sunday, January 23.   www.playwrightshorizons.org

Returning Playwrights Horizons alumni include Mr. Bock The Drunken City, Mr. Cullman The Drunken City, Manic Flight Reaction, Mr. Birney 8 productions stretching back to his 1976 New York debut in Gemini and including last season's Circle Mirror Transformation, Ms. Keenan-Bolger Saved and Ms. Pawk Prayer for My Enemy. Mr. Palmer, making his PH debut, is familiar to TV audiences as Deacon Palmer on the long-running series "The King of Queens."
