Dan O'Brien's The Voyage of the Carcass opened last night, Monday, October 16th, and had its opening night party at the mAnnAhAttA Restaurant in New York City. Among the guests were former SNL cast member Jimmy Fallon and one of the play's stars, Kelly Hutchinson.

The ensemble cast of the play features 2005 Tony Award-winner Dan Fogler (Spelling Bee), Noah Bean (Romance at the Mark Taper Forum) and Kelly Hutchinson (Homebody/Kabul at NYTW; Romola & Nijinsky at Primary Stages).  "When their Polar expedition goes awry, only three members of the  doomed SS Carcass remain—Bane Barrington, a buffoonish explorer; ship's Chaplain Kane, a rector in drag; and Israel, their mute (and Canadian) first mate. After 40 years trapped in the ice, will they make it home alive?  But first, they'll take a five-minute break,  explore themselves, their roles, and their "issues" as actors dealing with an artic blast all their own.  Bill is a struggling mime; his wife Helen is an ad exec and erstwhile actress; Dan is a passive-aggressive puppet master (that is to say, the playwright)," state production notes.

The Voyage of the Carcass began previews on Thursday, October 5, and will play for a limited engagement through Sunday, November 12.

Tickets are $40 for Monday, Wednesday and Thursday performances; $50 for Friday – Sunday performances and are available by calling the Soho Playhouse box office at 212-691-1555 or online at www.sohoplayhouse.com.
