Tony Award nominees Penny Fuller and Anita Gillette will star in the staged reading of JAMMED, a new play by Joan Tewkesbury (Nashville, Thieves Like Us), Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Manhattan Theatre Source (177 MacDougal St., between Waverly Place and West 8th St.).
JAMMED takes place backstage at a performance of Hedda Gabler. A missed cue triggers a conversation, a confrontation and a misguided solution.

Penny Fuller received Tony Award nominations for Best Featured Actress in Applause and The Dinner Party. Her other Broadway credits include Barefoot in the Park, Cabaret and An American Daughter. Nominated for a Best Actress Tony Award for Chapter Two, Anita Gillette also starred in Carnival!, Cabaret, and Brighton Beach Memoirs. She has been seen recently on TV in "30 Rock" and "CSI."
JAMMED is presented as part of InGenius, a series of new works written by the members of the Writers' Forum at Manhattan Theatre Source. Sarah Baskin, who currently stars in the production of Tewkesbury's RETROSPECTIVE, also at Manhattan Theatre Source; Jon Ecklund and James Lawson round out the cast.

Tickets are free. Reservations are required. To make a reservation, call (212) 501-4751. For more information, visit http://www.theatresource.org.

Manhattan Theatre Source's Artistic Director Jim Lawson founded the Writers' Forum in January 2008. The group meets weekly to develop new works for the stage. Its inaugural InGenius Series features productions of 16 new plays; including full lengths by Joan Tewkesbury, David Caudle and Nat Cassidy as well as a reading series.
