THE DAUGHTERS, a new musical by Shaina Taub, will make its premiere at Joe's Pub on Thursday July 16th at 7:30.

THE DAUGHTERS is one part concert, one part play, a spoonful of sex and comedy, and a big, extra helping of soul, written by up-and-coming songwriter, Shaina Taub. This experimental musical explores three daughters of Zeus: Athena, Artemis and Aphrodite, as sisters tackling war, love and sibling rivalry. Entirely sung, THE DAUGHTERS spirals fluidly and sharply through raw gospel wails to sweet, dirty funk, to muscular rock, all in the hammock of a timeless story of three women in the public eye, in private pride and passion, struggling between change and safety, desire and fear, all inside the combustible, graceful, thunderous container of a concert."
The cast includes Kate Ferber (Factory Girls), Jo Lampert (The Last Goodbye), Shaina Taub (Factory Girls), LaDonna Burns (Rent), Lindsay Wolf (Port Twilight), Alyse Alan Louis (Prince Music Theater's Bright Lights, Big City ), Ali Stroker (the upcoming Mrs. Sharp), and Ryann Redmond.

The five-piece band will be led by Justin Goldner on bass and includes Cian McCarthy (In The Heights), Andy Arnold, Hiroyuki Matsuura and Allison Seidner (South Pacific).
The Daughters features direction by Sam Pinkleton, choreography by Anastasia Niemann, arrangements by Justin Goldner and production design by Chantel Pascente and Hannah Hogan.

Joe's Pub is located within the Public Theater at 425 Lafayette Street. Tickets, priced $12, are available by visiting www.joespub.com or by calling (212) 967-7555.
