Melissa Gilbert to Star in Fallen Angel's MY BRILLIANT DIVORCE

Fallen Angel Theatre Company (Aedín Moloney, Founder and Producing Artist Director) is proud to announce the New York premiere production of My Brilliant Divorce, written by Olivier nominated playwright Geraldine Aron (The Galway Girl, The Donahue Sisters) and starring Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee Melissa Gilbert (The Dead, 1904; "Little House on the Prairie"). Directed by Aedín Moloney (A Most Dangerous Woman, Airswimming), My Brilliant Divorce begins performances March 15, 2018 at the New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street), with opening night set for March 20, for a limited run through April 8, 2018. Tickets are available now by visiting .

New Yorker Rachel Lipsky Haringay is divorced and abandoned by her irritatingly round-headed British husband of many years after he discloses his Argentine lover, "Rosa the Posa". Now alone in London, Rachel is left to deal with an empty nest, a disapproving mother, a misogynous lawyer, some dubious counselors, a bad case of hypochondria and the specter of poverty. With only the family dog Axal for company, Rachel mourns her marriage, picks up the pieces and learns to live whole again. Nominated for an Olivier Award, My Brilliant Divorce explores how to cope when the world you have built comes crashing spectacularly down.

My Brilliant Divorce will feature set design by John McDermott (Peter Pan), lighting design by Jessica Kasprisin (Eva the Chaste), sound design by M. Florian Staab (When I was a Girl I used to Scream and Shout), costume design by Nikki Delhomme (The Alchemist) and props design by Eileen Connolly (Daughter of the Waves).

On Thursday, January 25, Fallen Angel Theatre Company will celebrate its 2018 Winter Benefit, honoring Geraldine Aron, with appearances by Melissa Gilbert, Eddie Palmieri, Mayor David N. Dinkins, Gail Brewer, Paddy Moloney, Colum McCann and many more. A limited number of tickets are still available here. For more information, visit or call 646-621-4948.

Fallen Angel Theatre was founded in 2003 by actress Aedín Moloney. It is a non-profit company based in New York committed to presenting outstanding & dynamic Irish & British plays written by and about women. This wealth of female writing has largely been untapped in the US. Fallen Angel Theatre is the first American company with the goal of interpreting these plays in a fresh, exciting and commercially viable way for New York audiences. Fallen Angel Theatre has a goal to create a new and diverse audience base that transcends cultural barriers thanks in both to the universal themes in the writing and the company's high production quality. Fallen Angel Theatre has strong ties to the community and has an outreach program working with area non?profits, organizations & individuals, with the goal of expanding education and knowledge about their work in the community. Our work with these non-profits takes different forms. We facilitate a two-way collaboration with the organizations in the development stages of our project which benefits both the organization's members and our company members during the Production process. We also support organizations by contributing a percentage of our box office takings towards their causes.
