MTC's THE COMMONS OF PENSACOLA Announces Final Extension thru Feb 9

By:

Manhattan Theatre Club has announced a final two week extension for The Commons of Pensacola, the sold out hit play by Amanda Peet, directed by MTC's award-winning artistic director Lynne Meadow.

Tickets for The Commons of Pensacola will be on sale through Sunday, February 9 at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street). A new block of tickets for the two week extension will go on sale tomorrow, January 10 at 10 AM. This is the absolutely final extension for the production.

In addition, Sarah Jessica Parker is featured on the covers of In Style Magazine (February issue) and In New York Magazine (January issue). Both issues are available now on newsstands.

THE COMMONS OF PENSACOLA stars Emmy and Tony award winner Blythe Danner, Zoe Levin (The Way Way Back), Ali Marsh ("In Plain Sight"), Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Sarah Jessica Parker, Michael Stahl-David (Cloverfield), and Nilaja Sun (No Child...).

Judith (Blythe Danner) has been divested of her assets and forced to leave her luxurious New York life after her husband's Wall Street scam became headline news. When her daughter Becca (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Becca's filmmaker boyfriend (Michael Stahl-David) pay Judith a visit to the one bedroom condo Judith now occupies in Pensacola, Florida, everyone's motives are called into question. How will past and present circumstances inform how this family moves into the future?

THE COMMONS OF PENSACOLA is an incisive and funny new play about trying to love your family even when you hate what they've done.

This new play marks the reunion of Danner and Parker who previously starred together in MTC's 1995 hit production Sylvia by A.R. Gurney.

The creative team for The Commons of Pensacola includes Santo Loquasto (scenic design), Tom Broecker (costume design), Jason Lyons (lighting design), Jill BC Du Boff (sound design), and Thomas Schall (fight director).

Lead support for The Commons of Pensacola is provided by MTC's Producing Fund Partner, Andrew Martin-Weber. Special thanks to The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust for supporting Manhattan Theatre Club. Additional support for The Commons of Pensacola is provided by The Blanche and Irving Laurie Foundation.

Tickets for The Commons of Pensacola are available by calling CityTix at 212-581-1212, online by visiting www.nycitycenter.org, or by visiting New York City Center box office (131 West 55th Street). Tickets are $105.
