Lainie Kazan and Nikki Blonsky Join MY BIG GAY ITALIAN WEDDING 8/26-27

The producers of the Off-Broadway smash hit ‘My Big Gay Italian Wedding' are excited to welcome legend of stage and screen Lainie Kazan for the show's Atlantic City premiere Friday, August 26th and Saturday, August 27th at the Hilton Hotel & Casino.

Lainie Kazan (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) will join the cast as Anthony's loud, outspoken, opinionated mother 'Angela Pinnunziato,' and Nikki Blonsky (Hairspray, 2007 Film) will star as 'Maria Pinnunziato,' Anthony's younger sister and aspiring Broadway star.

Lainie Kazan is among the most recognizable entertainers of our time. Most recently Kazan got caught up in the drama on Wisteria Lane on ABC's Desperate Housewives where she guest starred as housemaid owner Maxine Rosen. Kazan is an Emmy, Tony, and Golden Globe nominee. Her film credits include Beaches, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and My Favorite Year for which she received a Tony and Golden Globe nomination for the stage and film versions respectively.

Nikki Blonsky received rave reviews and a Golden Globe nomination for her turn as Tracy Turnblad in the 2007 film version of Hairspray, alongside John Travolta. Blonsky's TV credits include ABC's Ugly Betty, MTV's mystery series Valemont, and the ABC Family series Huge.

Current cast member and Billboard chart topping singer Kim Sozzi will reprise her role as 'Aunt Toniann' for the August 26th performance, while freestyle dance/pop singer Judy Torres will perform as 'Aunt Toniann' on August 27th. Anthony Wilkinson, the creator and star of the show as well as a 3-time Daytime Emmy Winner will also reprise his role as 'Anthony' for the Atlantic City run. 3-time Daytime Emmy Winner, Sonia Blangiardo directs.

My Big Gay Italian Wedding is the story of hopeless romantic Anthony Pinnuziato and his conservative, Italian family as they plan the wedding of Anthony's dreams in Brooklyn. His mother worries what the neighbors will say while a jealous ex-boyfriend tries to derail the whole cremony. Bring in the wedding planner from Hell, and an assortment of family and friends and 'My Big Gay Italian Wedding' is one invitation you don't want to turn down.

The production features choreography by J. Austin Eyer, costume design by Philip Heckman, and original music and lyrics by David James Boyd.
