Kevin Zak and Marissa Rosen Complete the Cast of R.R.R.E.D

R.R.R.E.D., a new musical with music and lyrics by Katie Thompson and a book by Adam Jackman, Katie Thompson and Patrick Livingston, has announced complete casting for its Off-Broadway premiere. Directed by Andy Sandberg (Straight; Application Pending) and choreographed by Shea Sullivan (Pageant), R.R.R.E.D. begins performances July 28, 2018 and officially opens on August 19 at the DR2 Theatre (103 E 15th St, New York, NY). By the year 2100, the recessive gene that causes red-hair may cease to exist. Now, in the year 2018, a secret redheaded revolutionary organization is taking matters into their own hands, fighting back against their imminent extinction and standing up for the rights of redheads everywhere.

R.R.R.E.D. will feature Katie Thompson (Giant; Pump Boys & Dinettes) as "Victoria" and Matt Loehr (Book of Mormon; The Sting) as "GJ" with Marissa Rosen (The Marvelous Wonderettes) as "Stephanie Hicks" and Lucille Lortel Award nominee Kevin Zak (Clinton The Musical) as "Craig." Rotating celebrity guest cameos will be announced at a later date.

R.R.R.E.D. features Scenic Design by Charlie Corcoran (Shining City, Irish Rep), Lighting Design by Jake DeGroot (Oh, Hello), Costume Design by Tony Award nominee Michael McDonald (Hair), Sound Design by David Sanderson (Pageant), Projection Design by Dan Scully (Rocky), Hair/Wigs by John D'Orazio / John D'Orazio Salon, Music Direction by Rodney Bush, Casting by Jason Styres, CSA, and the production stage manager is Gregory Fletcher. R.R.R.E.D. is produced by R.R.R.E.D. Productions LLC, Randi Zuckerberg, Judith Manocherian/Mary Sedarat, Drew Desky/Dane Levens, and Christine Nielson/Steven Coggins in association with Laura Barket and executive producer ABS Productions.

The performance schedule for R.R.R.E.D. is Mondays at 7:30pm, Tuesdays at 7:30pm, Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 7pm.


Katie Thompson (Book / Music & Lyrics / "Victoria") has been seen as Rhetta Cup in New York City Center's Pump Boys & Dinettes, The Witch in the Oriental Theatre's Big Fish in Chicago, and Vashti Hake in Giant at The Public Theater. In addition to her work as an actress, Katie's original music has been featured on "So You Think You Can Dance" (America, Canada, and the U.K.). Katie has been a featured composer in Playbill's "Contemporary Musical Theater Songwriter's You Should Know," and "It's Revving Up -The Next Generation of Female Songwriters," and her work has been featured in Lincoln Center's "New Contemporary Songbook" series. Original solo ablums: "Private Page," "KT LIVE," and "What I've Done Right." Her favorite experiences include playing cards in the green room at The Public Theater, and singing for First Lady Michelle Obama.

Matt Loehr ("GJ") most recently appeared on Broadway in The Book of Mormon as Elder McKinley. Additional Broadway credits: the original casts of The Producers, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mary Poppins, Promises Promises (2010 revival), Elf the Musical, as well as replacements in Fosse, Movin' Out, and Evita. Matt is a four-time Carbonell Award Winner for Me & My Girl (Bill Snibson), The Music Man (Harold Hill), Hello Dolly! (Cornelius Hackl), and Crazy For You (Bobby Child), all at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre in Florida. Other regional highlights includes Nice Work if You Can Get It at California Musical Theatre (Jimmy Winter), White Christmas at Theatre Under the Stars (Phil), and Singin' in the Rain at North Shore Music Theatre (Don Lockwood).

Marissa Rosen ("Stephanie Hicks") A born & raised New Yorker thrilled to be working with this rockstar team! Most recently, she was seen in the Off-Broadway production ofThe Marvelous Wonderettes & the Chicago premiere of "A Taste of things to Come". Some of her favorite credits include: Jawbreaker, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Grease, Legally Blonde, Bare, & Into the Woods.
