Tony Award-winning actress Julie White (The Little Dog Laughed) will star in the upcoming world premiere production of Liz Flahive's From Up Here, directed by Leigh Silverman (Yellow Face, Well).  The cast will also feature Aya Cash, Will Rogers and Joel Van Liew.

Julie White received the Best Actress in a Play Tony Award, Obie Award as well as Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Lortel, and Drama League nominations for originating her role in Douglas Carter Bean's The Little Dog Laughed. White's other theatre credits include: Spike Heels, Family of Mann, and Bad Dates all with frequent collaborator Theresa Rebeck; The Heidi Chronicles; Dinner With Friends; Fiction; and Barbra's Wedding.

"In From Up Here, Kenny Barrett did something that has everyone worried. He wishes he could just make it through the rest of his senior year unnoticed, but that's going to be hard since he has to publicly apologize to his entire high school. At home, his family is struggling with second marriages, surprise visits, school dances, and forgotten dry cleaning. From Up Here is a darkly funny and unexpectedly moving family story," explain press notes.

Julie White will play Grace Warren, the recently remarried mother of Kenny and Lauren Barrett. Aya Cash will play Lauren, Kenny Barrett's sister; Will Rogers will play Charlie, a schoolmate of Lauren and Kenny's, and Joel Van Liew will play the dual roles of Mr. Goldberger, the school counselor, and Stevens, a recent acquaintance of the family.

From Up Here begins previews on Thursday, March 27 for a Wednesday, April 16 opening at New York City Center – Stage I (131 West 55th Street). From Up Here is presented in association with Ars Nova.

The creative team will include Allen Moyer (scenic design), Mattie Ullrich (costume design), Pat Collins (lighting design), and David Caparelliotis (casting).

Additional casting and creative team members for the production will be announced in the coming weeks.
