Irish Rep Takes on Tir Na Theatre Company's Production of JIMMY TITANIC

Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director and Ciarán O'Reilly, Producing Director) is proud to present the Tír Na Theatre Company's production of JIMMY TITANIC, by Bernard McMullan (The Return of the Winemaker). Directed by Carmel O'Reilly (Trojan Barbie), JIMMY TITANIC begins performances on January 24, 2018 at Irish Rep Theatre (132 West 22nd Street) on the W. Scott McLucas Studio Stage, with an opening night set for January 30, 2018, and will run through February 18, 2018. Tickets are on sale now through Irish Rep's box office at 212-727-2737 or online at www.irishrep.org.

An award-winning one-man show with actor Colin Hamell moving seamlessly between more than twenty different roles, JIMMY TITANIC is a wholly original Titanic story set between the great ship and heaven. God is a Dublin gangster. Angel Gabriel is the plucky keeper at the gates of heaven and Titanic's legacy isn't the first-class passengers, it is 700 crewmen enjoying newfound stardom in heaven. This is Titanic like you've never seen it before. Having gone down with the ship, Jimmy has rock star status and boy does he milk it. Flirting with angels, rewriting history with a direct line to an unlikely God - JIMMY TITANIC is a unique and hilarious take on the story of the most famous ship ever built.

Originally conceived to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the great ship's sinking, the Irish comedy JIMMY TITANIC stars Colin Hamell (The Fighter) as a Belfast shipyard worker named Jimmy Boylan, as well as more than 20 other characters whose lives were connected to the doomed ocean liner. From his new home in a humorously rendered heaven, Boylan remembers and relives events surrounding the voyage every day, consumed by its legacy. Written by Bernard McMullan and directed by Carmel O'Reilly, this one-man show presents an amalgam of historical drama and wry humor.

The creative team for JIMMY TITANIC will be announced at a later date.

The performance schedule for JIMMY TITANIC is as follows: Wednesdays at 3pm and 8pm; Thursdays at 7pm; Fridays at 8pm; Saturdays at 3pm and 8pm; and Sundays at 3pm.

Tickets to JIMMY TITANIC are available for $50. Tickets are on sale now through Irish Rep's box office by calling 212-727-2737, or online at www.irishrep.org.
