Oscar, Tony, and Pulitzer-winner John Patrick Shanley's passionate comedy Italian American Reconciliation is subtitled a folktale. Teresa loves Huey. Huey loves Teresa but a piece of him still belongs to his ex-wife Janice. Janice wants to take pieces out of everyone. But Huey has to get Janice back. He enlists his best friend, Aldo, in a plan to win Janice. Aldo loves Huey so much that he is willing to lose a pretty big piece of himself. Life? Happiness? Marriage? Love? Questions they all are trying to figure out. But the ultimate goal is to "throw away your book of fear and open your heart."

The work is among the best-known of award-winning playwright and screenwriter John Patrick Shanley (Oscar for Moonstruck screenplay; Pulitzer, Tony Award and Drama Desk Award for Doubt, A Parable). Other plays include Four Dogs and a Bone, Beggars in the House of Plenty, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, and Romantic Poetry.

Directed by Suzanne DiDonna, Italian American Reconciliation's cast includes Michael Basile, Elizabeth Masucci, Brian Murphy, Barbara Speigel and Shirin Tinati. Set design is by Rohit Kapoor and lighting by Josh Iacovelli.

Passion Play Productions is made up of Italian American New Yorkers, who truly love the theater. They have a passion for the play, its story and characters. "This story is about finding the truth in oneself, so we are capable of loving others," says company member Elizabeth Masucci. "We are passionate about the play, and working with each other. We stick together like family. This is what acting is all about. Capisce?"
