Off-Broadway's Gotham Stage Company today announces the lineup for its second annual SPRINGboard New Works Series, to be held at The Players Club in New York City on May 7th and June 11th, 2012.

May 7th will feature a reading of COMING INTO BEING, the latest play by Carrie Barrett (ADAM & EMILY) to be directed by Hayley Finn (FATES'S IMAGINATION, KATE CRACKERNUTS).  Play features a family dealing with a son's gradual disappearance into the arms of a cult.

June 11th will feature IN A TOWN NEAR FAITH, a new play by Randall David Cook (SAKE WITH THE HAIKU GEISHA, FATE'S IMAGINATION) which has been commissioned by Gotham Stage Company.  It will be directed by Wes Grantom.  Play details are for now being kept under wraps.

The SPRINGboard New Works series was launched by Gotham Stage Company in 2011, intended to provide a first public professional presentation of new American plays in early development.  Previous installment included plays by Ethan Lipton, Sara Farrington, and Carrie Barrett.

Gotham Stage Company is a 501(c)(3) Off-Broadway non-profit theatre company founded in 2006.  An ensemble company, Gotham is dedicated to developing and producing new American plays with an eye towards establishing and building the careers of the ever-growing artistic community which makes up its membership.  Previous mainstage productions include Randall David Cook's SAKE WITH THE HAIKU GEISHA, and FATE'S IMAGINATION, and Eric Houston's BECOMING ADELE.  Gotham also hosts the annual BarnStorm Artists' Retreat each fall where new ideas and early pages are incubated and developed by the company at an undisclosed location Upstate.  Gotham is led by Producing Artistic Director Michael Barra and Co-Artistic Director Julia Haubner Smith.
