From the creators of the international hit De La Guarda comes a brand new original production, Fuerzabruta ("Brute Force") which lands in New York on October 11, 2007.  Fuerzabruta will play a strictly limited engagement at  the Daryl Roth Theatre through February 17, 2008.  Official Opening Night is set for Wednesday, October 24th.

Diqui James (De La Guarda Co-founder/Co-creator) and Gaby Kerpel (De La Guarda Composer/Musical Director) have embarked on a project forming a new company that continues to push the boundaries of theatrical creativity, motivation and innovation.  Together with Alejandro Garcia (De La Guarda Technical Director) and Fabio Daquila (De La Guarda Production Supervisior),  they have created Fuerzabruta, which springs from the core of De La Guarda and evolves into a new independent form - devoted to reinventing, transforming, and creating an experience that is unique and unrepeatable.

Fuerzabruta "breaks free from the confines of spoken language and theatrical convention.  In this new show, both performers and audience are immersed in an environment that floods the senses, evoking pure visceral emotion in a  place where individual imagination soars," state press materials.

Fuerzabruta is an event where worlds collide, dreams are real and reality takes a back seat.  The visuals are spectacular.  Set in vigorous motion, the effects are stunning - a man runs full throttle through a series of  moving walls, individuals race to connect from opposite sides of a whirling sail and performers frolic and interact in a watery world suspended just above the audience.  The action is set to a dynamic soundtrack that spans percussive beats, engaging melodies and hypnotic ambient music.  Fuerzabruta has taken Europe and South America by storm, and its New York debut promises to be one of the most exciting events of the Fall season.

Fuerzabruta premiered in Buenos Aires in 2005 and has been seen in Lisbon (2006), London (2006), Buenos Aires (2006), Bogota (2007) and will appear at the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, followed by engagements in Berlin and  Hamburg.  Since De La Guarda appeared in  New York in a smash 6-year Off-Broadway run as the inaugural production at the Daryl Roth Theatre, that show has played in London, Las Vegas, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Seoul, Tel-Aviv, Amersterdam, Berlin and Tokyo, among  other cities.

Fuerzabruta is presented in New York by Concert Productions International (CPI), Ozono Productions and David Binder Productions.

Fuerzabruta will play at the Daryl Roth Theatre as follows: Tuesday through Thursday at 8:00 PM, Friday at 8:00 & 10:30 PM, Saturday at 7:00 and 10:00 PM, and Sunday at 7:00 PM.  The Daryl Roth Theatre is located at 20 Union Square East at the corner of 15th Street.  For preview performances through October  23, tickets are specially priced at $35.00.  For all regular performances, tickets are $70.00.  Tickets may be purchased online at www.telecharge.com or by calling (212) 239-6200, or at the box office of the Daryl Roth  Theatre.  For all performances, a limited quantity of $25.00 rush tickets will be made available at the box office 2 hours before show time (cash only).
