The New York premiere of Dogstar Theatre's THE TAILOR OF INVERNESS, written by Matthew Zajac, and directed by Ben Harrison (of Scotland's famed Grid Iron Theatre Company), launches 59E59 Theaters' 2015 Brits Off Broadway festival this month.

"I come from the Soviets and the Nazis. Now I am here. I am from here. I speak the language of here."

Matthew Zajac's internationally acclaimed, multi-award-winning play is a story of a son's search for his father, a story of 20th century Europe, of how a boy who grew up on a farm in Galicia (Eastern Poland, now Western Ukraine) came to be a tailor in northern Scotland. THE TAILOR OF INVERNESS is a poignant story of deception, identity and survival.

Actor/writer Matthew Zajac is joined onstage by one of Scotland's leading fiddlers, Aidan O'Rourke (who with his band Lau, was named 'Best Group' at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards).

Part of Brits Off Broadway and produced by Dogstar Theatre (Inverness, Scotland), THE TAILOR OF INVERNESS is at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues).

THE TAILOR OF INVERNESS begins performances tonight, April 14 for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 3. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 PM; Friday at 8:30 PM; Saturday at 2:30 PM & 8:30 PM; and Sunday at 3:30 PM. Tickets are $25 ($17.50 for 59E59 Members).
