David Cote, theater editor and chief drama critic at Time Out New York, will moderate the VINEYARD VOICES panel "LAW & ORDER AND THE STAGE" on Sunday, October 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.) it has been announced.

VINEYARD VOICES is a popular series of panel discussions -- now in its second year -- with leading artists associated with the Vineyard Theatre.

The October 24th program is a one-time-only event that will feature actors Sam Waterston, Linus Roache, and Annie Parisse as well as writer Gina Gionfriddo from the hit TV series "Law & Order" in a discussion about the long-standing relationship between the New York-based television show and the theatre community.

David Cote has been theater editor and chief drama critic for Time Out New York since 2003. He teaches arts criticism at Brooklyn College. In recent years he has also been working on plays and opera libretti. MacDowell Colony Fellowship: 2009. He has moderated panels at Montclair State University, CUNY Graduate Center, and various theaters around the city, including P.S. 122, Soho Rep and the Vineyard Theatre.

VINEYARD VOICES offers an opportunity for audiences to go behind-the-scenes and hear theatre professionals give insightful, colorful anecdotes about working in the theatre and creating for the stage and beyond.

For "LAW & ORDER AND THE STAGE," Vineyard Theatre will gather LAW & ORDER veterans Sam Waterston, Linus Roache, Annie Parisse and Gina Gionfriddo to explore the relationship between the New York theatre community and LAW & ORDER - one of TV's most successful and enduring franchises with 20 years on air. As many theatergoers know, it is not uncommon to find a LAW & ORDER credit in an actor's program bio on Broadway, Off and off-off. The Vineyard is thrilled to welcome Sam Waterston to its stage along with Linus Roache, presently starring in the Vineyard's world premiere of Will Eno's play MIDDLETOWN, Annie Parisse, who appeared at The Vineyard in THE INTERNATIONALIST and Gina Gionfriddo, whose play AFTER ASHLEY was a critical and popular success at the Vineyard several seasons ago.

Sam Waterston's portrayal of District Attorney Jack McCoy on LAW & ORDER has earned three Emmy nominations, the 1999 Screen Actors Guild Award, a Screen Actors Guild nomination, and a Golden Globe nomination. He was nominated for an Oscar for THE KILLING FIELDS, three Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe Award for I'LL FLY AWAY, and an Emmy for hosting the ten-part NBC special "Lost Civilizations." His numerous film credits include: "Interiors," "Hannah and Her Sisters," "Crimes and Misdemeanors," "Serial Mom," " The Glass Menagerie" with Katharine Hepburn, and "Rancho Deluxe." On TV he played "Oppenheimer"in a mini-series of the same name, starred opposite Jennifer Beals in "A House Divided," and opposite Mary Tyler Moore in Gore Vidal's mini-series "Lincoln." On stage Waterson earned a Tony Award nomination for his portrayal of Abraham Lincoln in ABE LINCOLN IN ILLINOIS, and an Obie and Drama Desk Award for his portrayal of Benedick in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING.

Linus Roache made his NY Theatre debut in both productions of Shakespeare's CORIOLANUS & RICHARD II at B.A.M. opposite Ralph Fiennes. He was also a member of The Royal Shakespeare Company in the UK. Linus is widely known for his role as Asst D.A. Michael Cutler on LAW & ORDER. Other television credits include roles in HBO's award winning THE GATHERING STORM, NBC's KIDNAPPED, and he received a Golden Globe nomination for his portrayal of Robert Kennedy in the FX TV film, RFK. Linus' film credits include WINGS OF A DOVE, HART'S WAR, PRIEST, and BATMAN BEGINS.

Annie Parisse's many credits include Lena Riggi in the acclaimed HBO miniseries THE PACIFIC and currently recurs on the AMC series RUBICON. Annie was a series regular on LAW & ORDER, playing ADA Alexandra Borgia, and received an Emmy nomination for her role as Julia Lindsay Snyder on "As the World Turns." She will soon be seen in "One for the Money" opposite Katherine Heigl and has appeared in the films "My Own Love Song," "Tickling Leo," "Definitely, Maybe," "Prime," "Blackbird," "Monster-in-Law," "National Treasure," and "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days." Parisse starred on Broadway in the revival of PRELUDE TO A KISS at the Roundabout Theatre, played the title role in Becky Shaw at Second Stage and was most recently seen in CLYBOURNE PARK at Playwrights Horizons.

Gina Gionfriddo was a Pulitzer Prize finalist for Becky Shaw, which had its world premiere at the Humana Festival at Actors Theatre of Louisville and its New York premiere Off Broadway at Second Stage. Her other plays include AFTER ASHLEY (Humana Festival; Off Broadway at The Vineyard Theatre; regional theatres throughout the country; and abroad in Poland); U.S. Drag (Off-Broadway by the stageFARM and regional productions); Guinevere (O'Neill Playwrights' Conference); and the one-acts SQUALOR and AMERICA'S GOT TRAGEDY (commissioned and presented by the stageFARM). Gina has received an Obie Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, an Outer Critics Circle Award, The Helen Merrill Award for Emerging Playwrights, and an American Theatre Critics Association/Steinberg citation. She has written for the television dramas "Law and Order", "Law and Order: Criminal Intent", "Cold Case" and "The Borgias", and is currently a writer on "Boardwalk Empire". She has contributed essays on rock music to the literary journal, The Believer, and short fiction to Canteen. Gina attended the MFA Playwriting Program at Brown University where she studied with Paula Vogel and began her long, happy collaboration with Peter DuBois. She has taught writing at Brown, Providence College, and Rhode Island College. Currently she is working on new play commissions from Playwrights Horizons and Center Theatre Group.
