DEFENDING THE CAVEMAN Ends NY Return at Sofia's, 4/18

Defending the Caveman, the history-making comedy about the sexes, will end its limited Off-Broadway engagement April 18th at The Downstairs Theatre at Sofia's, 221 West 46th Street, next to the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, in the heart of Broadway. Defending The Caveman will be presented by Theater Mogul NA Inc., in association with Entertainment Events Inc.

15 years ago, Defending the Caveman became the longest running solo show in Broadway history when it played its 702nd performance at the Helen Hayes Theatre. Caveman still holds that record today. Since that record was set, Caveman has been performed in almost 200 cities in the US and has been translated into 30 languages and produced in 45 countries around the globe. The New York Times called Defending the Caveman "a comic phenomenon."

Defending the Caveman was written by Rob Becker over a three-year period during which he made an informal study of anthropology, prehistory, psychology, sociology and mythology. Apparently he studied well. Caveman has touched the hearts and the funny bones of couples all around the world.

Defending the Caveman stars Paul Perroni. In addition to the Caveman, his most memorable roles include Edmund Tyrone in Long Day's Journey into Night, Cassius in Julius Caesar, and a recurring role as Comedian/DJ Johnny Hughes in The Awesome 80's Prom. Paul has also appeared in a variety of national commercials and films including the independent short film "Sugar," which was featured at the Dick Clark Productions Theater in Los Angeles, and The Minx, which was featured at the Hong Kong Film Festival.
