Christina Bianco & Kathy Brier to Lead THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES Off-Broadway Revival

The Marvelous Wonderettes are back! Producers Tom and Michael D'Angora are bringing the long running Off-Broadway hit musical to New York's Theatre Row this spring. The production, which features such classic 50's and 60's hits such as "Lollipop," "Dream Lover," "Stupid Cupid," "Son of a Preacher Man," "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me," and "It's My Party," will feature two time Drama Desk nominee and Youtube sensation Christina Bianco and Emmy Award nominee Kathy Brier. Additional casting and creative team will be announced early next year.

The Marvelous Wonderettes takes a cotton-candied colored musical trip down memory lane to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where we meet "The Wonderettes", four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts! We experience their lives and loves from prom night to their 10 year reunion as told through more than 20 chart topping hits of the era!

Created, written, and originally directed by Roger Bean, the previous New York production played at the West Side Theatre from September 2008 to January 2010. As a regional favorite, there have been countless productions all over the world and two sequels, The Marvelous Wonderettes: Caps & Gowns and Winter Wonderettes.

Two-time Drama Desk Award nominatee Christina Bianco has become a YouTube sensation with her diva impression videos, channeling the likes of everyone from Christina Agueilera to Julie Andrews. With over 21 million views worldwide, she has performed her hilarious impressions on The Ellen Degeneres Show, The Queen Latifah Show and The Today Show. As an actress she most recently starred in the one woman Off-Broadway comedy Application Pending and has been featured in several editions of NEWSical the Musical and Forbidden Broadway.

Kathy Brier is best known for her role as Marcie Walsh McBain on ABC's One Life to Live for 9 years. This role garnered her an Emmy Nomination and a Spirit Award for Best Actress in a Drama. Most recently, Kathy can be seen telling dirty jokes & heard singing during numerous scenes as the legendary Sophie Tucker on HBO's Boardwalk Empire. She received two Grammy Awards for her participation on the Boardwalk Empire Volume I & II Soundtracks. Kathy made her Broadway debut in Hairspray as Tracy Turnblad and made her Off-Broadway debut in the rock musical cult hit Bat Boy The Musical.

Tom D'Angora is currently the producer of the long running hits NEWSical the Musical and Naked Boys Singing which will continue to run in rep at The Kirk Theatre with The Marvelous Wonderettes.

The Marvelous Wonderettes begins previews Wednesday March 23rd and opens Thursday April 28th. The show will play Wednesdays at 2:30 and 8:15, Thursdays at 8:15, and Sundays at 3:00.
