The 2009 Drama Desk Award winner Celebrity Autobiography will perform a special New Year's Eve show on Friday, December 31 at 10pm at New York's Triad Theater, 158 West 72 Street, with a cast that is scheduled to include Rick Holmes (The Pillowman, Spamalot), Cady Huffman (Tony winner for The Producers), Kristen Johnston (Emmy winner for "Third Rock from the Sun"), Andrea Martin (Tony winner for My Favorite Year), Christopher Sieber (Shrek, Tony nominee for Spamalot), and the show's creators Emmy nominee Eugene Pack and Dayle Reyfel.

This special "Best of Celebrity Autobiography" edition-which includes champagne, snacks, party favors, and a countdown to midnight-will be sprinkled with surprise passages from the past year's highlights in autobiographies, including books by Justin Beiber and the Kardashians.   And one lucky audience member will be selected to perform a passage with the cast.

The comedy sensation Celebrity Autobiography features a line-up of rotating performers who interpret the actual words and stories written by the famous and the infamous, in both solo and ensemble "chamber" pieces.  Some of the "authors" that are featured include Ivana Trump, VAnna White, Mr. T, Star Jones, Kenny Loggins, Tommy Lee, Sylvester Stallone, the Jonas Brothers, Zsa Zsa Gabor, David Cassidy, Neil Sedaka, Britney Spears, Madonna, Tiger Woods, Carrie Prejean, Sarah Palin, Burt Reynolds and Loni Anderson, as well as the infamous memoirs of ElizaBeth Taylor, Eddie Fisher, and Debbie Reynolds, which are edited together to create a Rashomon-esque playlet in the participants' own words.

Celebrity Autobiography began its national tour this past summer with acclaimed performances in Pittsburgh, New Orleans, San Francisco, Chicago, and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, as well as an ongoing production at Los Angeles's Broad Stage.  Upcoming cities include Charlotte, Cleveland, Atlanta, and Boston.  The show also recently opened at London's Leicester Square Theatre where it received rave reviews and currently plays to sell-out audiences.

Celebrity Autobiography has been playing to sell-out audiences and rave reviews at the Triad Theater since fall 2008.  Charles Isherwood of The New York Times called the show "big-yuks entertainment" and a "merry compendium of the witlessness and wisdom of the rich and famous."  Joe Dziemianowicz of the Daily News called it a "potent comic cocktail...you weep with laughter."  The New Yorker called it "inspired."  And Sam Thielman of Variety wrote, "Audience members hyperventilate.  It should lead a long and happy life."  The show has been featured by numerous media outlets, including ABC's "The View" and "Nightline," NBC's "Last Call with Carson Daly," NPR's "Morning Edition,"  CBS's "Sunday Morning," CNN'S "American Morning," New York 1, WNBC'S "News for New York" at 11pm, and Bravo's "A-List Awards."

Celebrity Autobiography plays at the Triad Theater, 158 West 72 Street.  Tickets are $75 - $150 and include champagne, party favors, and snacks, and may be purchased by contacting Smarttix at 212 868-4444 or www. smarttix.com, or by visiting www.celebrityautobiography.com.  For group sales phone 718 631-0438.
