Bobby Steggert, currently seen in the Broadway revival of 'Ragtime' in the role of Mother's Younger Brother, will head the cast of the York Theatre Company's upcoming production of 'Yank!', according to a story in the New York Times. Steggert will undertake the role of 'Stu', which he previously played in a 1997 production of 'Yank!' with the Gallery Players in Brooklyn.

According to production notes, 'Yank!' "tells the story of Stu, a scared Midwestern kid who gets drafted for World War II in 1943, and becomes a photographer for Yank Magazine, the journal 'for and by the servicemen.' Yank! has a score that pays homage to the 1940s and explores what it means to be a man, and what it is to fall in love and struggle."

'Yank!' will begin previews on February 16 and open officially on February 24, with a schedule run until March 21.
