Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson Creators Guest On Theater Talk 4/30

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) announced today that the creators of BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, the hit rock musical, will appear on the nationally syndicated television show "Theater Talk" this weekend. Writer/director Alex Timbers and composer Michael Friedman will be interviewed by the show's hosts, Susan Haskins and Michael Riedel, about their critically acclaimed musical that has now been extended twice at The Public through May 30.

The BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON episode of "Theater Talk" will premiere on Friday, April 30 at 1 a.m. on Channel 13 in New York City. It will be re-broadcast on CUNY-TV on Saturday, May 1 at 8:30 p.m.; Sunday, May 2 at 12:30 p.m.; and Monday, May 3 at 7:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. "Theater Talk" also airs in 60 urban markets across the country - for schedule information, please visit www.theatertalk.org.

A co-production with Center Theatre Group and in association with Les Freres Corbusier, BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON is an audacious mix of historical fact and invention that redefines America's controversial seventh president-the man who invented the Democratic Party, drove the Indians west, and ultimately doubled the size of our nation-with a raucous blend of outrageous comedy, anarchic theatricality and an infectious emo rock score.

ALEX TIMBERS (Writer/Director) is the Artistic Director of award-winning theatre company Les Freres Corbusier. His New York credits include Guttenberg! The Musical! (Drama Desk nomination - Best Director of a Musical; the Actors' Playhouse), A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant (OBIE Award; New York Theatre Workshop; two Garland Awards - Best Director and Best Musical; Powerhouse Theatre, Santa Monica), underground (BAM; International Tour), Hell House (Drama Desk nomination - Unique Theatrical Experience; St. Ann's Warehouse), Boozy ("Ten Best of 2005" - Daily News, Time Out New York). He has participated in workshops for Disney Theatricals, Playwrights Horizons, New York Stage & Film and been honored with fellowships by the Williamstown Theatre Festival, Drama League, and Sundance Theatre Lab.

MICHAEL FRIEDMAN (Music and Lyrics) is an associate artist with the Civilians, and has composed music and lyrics for the company's This Beautiful City, [I Am] Nobody's Lunch, Gone Missing and Canard, Canard, Goose?; as well as Saved, In the Bubble, The Brand New Kid, God's Ear and The Blue Demon. With Steve Cosson, he co-authored the 2008 Public LAB production Paris Commune. He has been a MacDowell fellow, a Hodder Fellow, and is an artistic associate at New York Theatre Workshop. He received an Obie award for sustained achievement.

THE PUBLIC THEATER (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director; Andrew D.
