Austin Pendleton Directed LUDLOW FAIR Returns to New York for Limited Engagement on 6/10 & 6/11

Ludlow Fair is making its Off-Broadway debut on June 10, and it's going to be a production that everyone who enjoys the arts should catch.

The one act play by Lanford Wilson shows a modern twist on how two strikingly different roommates live with each other and cope with their obvious differences. Veteran thespian Austin Pendleton will direct two up-and-coming actresses on what it's like to be hopeless romantics in New York City, a theme mirrored in many plays of Wilson's era. Set in 1965, the play stars Lauren Schaffel as wry Agnes and Anna Russell as vixen Rachel - both sharing a small New York City apartment and seeking dating advice, like many New Yorkers do today. What's particularly unusual about this play is its versatility among its production and cast members, since Schaffel is taking on a debut producer role.

"I never realized how many moving parts go on behind the scenes," says Schaffel on what it takes to make a successful production, including ticket sales and promotion. "It has given me greater awareness as an artist of how much of a collaborative process theater really is."

As for collaborating with someone like Austin Pendleton, a man who has been in the theatre world for upward of 50 years, Schaffel cannot express enough gratitude for the opportunity to perform under his direction.

"To work with him one-on-one directing this beautiful play has been one of the best theatrical experiences in my career thus far," says the budding actress on collaborating with Pendleton.

Ludlow Fair will debut at the TBG Studio Theater (312 W. 36 Street, 3rd floor) on Friday, June 10 at 6:30 p.m. and then 8 p.m, with repeat performances at the same times on Saturday, June 11.
