Ars Nova Announces Series Line-Up for October

UNCHARTED

UNCHARTED blasts through industry blockades, providing a forum for burgeoning singer/songwriters to perform their original music in front of a live audience. Focusing on emerging talents who have yet to break the Billboard 100, this series sets out to cover a wide range of styles while providing music lovers and industry taste makers an introduction to exciting new music.

Wednesday, October 1st 8pm Michael R. Jackson: Dirty Laundry

Michael R. Jackson can't get it together. He lives in squalor, he's never worked a full-time job, and he owes a bunch of people money. He's got an axe to grind, a joke or two to tell and some underwear that needs serious washing. Drawing on influences including Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos and Liz Phair, Jackson offers songs about white boys, black boys, orgies, incest, and more. Tuesday, October 7th 8pm The Amazing Ted Show!

See Ted juggle fifty-six chainsaws, set himself on fire, hold his breath for twenty minutes and then turn himself inside out. Featuring renowned entertainers from The Glass Contraption (Justine Williams, Catherine Mueller, Katie Down, Andy Grotelueschen, Robert Z. Grant), The Amazing Ted Show! is full of singing, dancing, ukulele, loud noises, attempted feats of acrobatics, falling in love and falling down. Wednesday, October 8th 8pm Adira Amram Is: An American Idol

She sings, she jazzercises, she eats beef jerky in slow motion! There's no telling what new skills the immensely talented and riotously funny Adira Amram might showcase in this pop comedy spectacle featuring the music of The Men Without Women (Alec Higgens-Keyboard, Matt Stoulli-bass, and Vinny Commissio-drums), backup dancers, and no shortage of spandex. Get ready to get leotarded! Staged by Travis Chamberlain.

PLEASE NOTE:
Uncharted, Tragedy Tomorrow and Out Loud series will go on hiatus October 15th - December 1st while Ars Nova presents A.N.T. FEST.
