 Algonquin Theatre Company and Pierre Weidemann will present "National Pastime," the comedy which has appeared in the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame, for one week only here in Manhattan August 21st-24th.  "National Pastime" is the story of a small 1930's radio station which cannot compete for the rights to broadcast a real baseball team's games....so they create their own team!  Written by Algonquin Theater's Artistic Director Tony Sportiello and directed by Nancy Robillard, this popular comedy has appeared twice in Cooperstown at the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame and is in the Literature Library.  The play features Jessica Arinella, Stephen Bradbury, Ethan Cadoff, Michael Lewis, Kelli Maguire, Joan Pelzer, Matthew Rashid, Len Rella and Angela Stellute.

The Algonquin Theatre Company is a not-for-profit company created to move shows on to the next level.  Past productions include Levy Lee Simon's "Same Train", Al M. Tapper's "Sessions" and Shel Silverstein's "The Devil and Billy Markham".  For more information visit www.algonquintheater.org.
