Albee's 'Peter & Jerry' Extends thru Dec. 30 at Second Stage

Although previews do not begin until October 19, Edward Albee's Peter and Jerry has extended three weeks through Sunday, December 30 at Second Stage Theatre.  Directed by Pam MacKinnon and featuring Johanna Day, Bill Pullman, and Dallas Roberts, the production will officially open on Sunday, November 11 at 6:30PM at Second Stage Theatre, 307 West 43rd Street.  Tickets may be purchased by calling the Second Stage Theatre Box Office at 212-246-4422 or online at www.2ST.com.  

Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner Edward Albee delves deeper into his 1958 play The Zoo Story by adding a first-act, Homelife, leading to Peter's (Bill Pullman) fateful meeting with Jerry (Dallas Roberts) on a park bench in Central Park.

The 2007-08 theatre season – during which Edward Albee will turn 80 on March 12, 2008 -- will feature four major productions of works by Albee, collectively entitled "The Albee Season."  In addition to Edward Albee's Peter and Jerry, the season will see Me, Myself and I at the McCarter Theatre, The Sandbox and The American Dream at Cherry Lane Theatre, and Occupant at Signature Theatre Company.  This season-long array of Albee plays – premieres, early works and a double-bill comprised of both a new work and his first play – serves as a reminder why Albee is widely-regarded as America's greatest living playwright, most notably on the occasion of his milestone birthday.

Edward Albee's Peter and Jerry will be performed through Sunday, December 30 at Second Stage Theatre (307 West 43rd Street, just west of 8th Avenue) on the following schedule: Tuesday at 7PM, Wednesday – Saturday at 8PM, Wednesday and Saturday at 2PM, and Sunday at 3PM. All evening performances the week of November 12 will begin at 7PM.  Matinee curtain times remain the same. There will be 2PM & 7PM performances on Sunday, October 21 and Sunday, November 25.

Holiday Schedules: There will be an additional 8PM performance on Monday, November 19 and no performance on Thanksgiving, November 22.  There will be an additional 8PM performance on Monday, December 17 and no performances on Sunday, December 23 or Tuesday, December 25.  There will be performances at 2PM & 7PM on Sunday, December 30.
