59E59 Theaters Executive Producer Peter Tear received his MBE from Britain's Queen Elizabeth this morning at 10 AM GMT at Buckingham Palace in London.

Joining Mr. Tear for the private ceremony were West End actor Simon Green (Coward at Christmas and Traveling Light at 59E59's Brits Off Broadway), Giles Havergal OBE (former Artistic Director of the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow) and 59E59 Theaters' Founder and Artistic Director Elysabeth Kleinhans.

"This is an unbelievable honor, not only for me personally but for 59E59 Theaters and our amazing staff that make it happen," said Mr. Tear. "I have a tremendous belief in the importance of UK/US cultural exchange, of which Brits Off Broadway has been a wonderful success story."

On December 31, 2009, Buckingham Palace announced that Mr. Tear was being honored with the MBE for service to UK/USA cultural relations.

Born and raised in Ayr, Scotland, Mr. Tear has been Executive Producer at 59E59 Theaters since its inception in 2004. With Elysabeth Kleinhans, he co-founded the theater's critically acclaimed Brits Off Broadway and is instrumental in programming this annual festival of new British productions.
