Project Info:
the wulfeater | August and September 2026 at Tenth Avenue Arts Center San Diego - An interactive musical theater experience based within a fascist neoliberal hellscape.
Project Type: Non-union, details on performer stipend will be provided at callbacks.
Production dates: Complete rehearsal and show schedule for both shows will be provided prior to callbacks. You will be required to bring your conflicts with you to callbacks. Conflicts will impact casting decisions.
Roles:
Diana (understudy only): Mezzo vocals, punk rock style. Strong dancer. Matron of the wulfeater, larger than life performer, cunning and manipulative. The female embodiment of patriarchy and capitalism. *
Thea and understudy: Wide vocal range, alto to soprano solo pieces. Excellent dancer. One of the wulfeater girls. Pick-me energy, also ver manipulative and mean.*
Maggie and understudy: Mezzo vocals. Strong dancer. One of the wulfeater girls. Maggie sees a vision for a world better than this, but only knows the same manipulative and mean tactics to get what she wants, and what she wants is Archie.
Tyler and understudy: Flexible vocal range. Competent dancer. Diana's counterpart, hyper-nationalist, chief-bureaucrat and leader of the wulfeater boys. Masculine embodiment of patriarchy and capitalism.
Victor and understudy: Must have strong and impressive tenor belt for challenging rock vocals. Competent dancer. Hypermasculine and violent.*
Jerry (understudy only): Strong vocalist, flexible range. Competent dancer, exceptional and nuanced acting. He's just here with his buddies having a good time. Shits pants sometimes.
Daphne and understudy: Strong mezzo, rock vocalist. Exceptional dancer. Leader of the wulfeater dance pack. Gnarly, gross, masculine, must command presence on stage.*
Pastor Dan and understudy: Flexible vocal range. Competent dancer. Skills with pre-show improv, crowd interaction. He's full of hypocrisy and shame.
Milkmaids and understudy: Excellent vocalists, able to navigate three + part harmonies. The vocal backbone of the show. Strong dancers. The moral compasses.
Archibald and understudy: Tenor/ counter tenor vocals. Strong musical theater belt. Cleveland's favorite cop. Must take us on a rollercoaster of thinking Archie is hilarious, violent, and pathetic. You need to hate him and feel really sad for him all at the same time.*
wulfeater girls: Excellent dancers. All genders encouraged to submit. wulfeater girls are the performers/ permanent residents of the wulfeater giving big girl boss energy. Generally feminine presenting. We are looking for jazz/jazz funk/ contemporary dancers. Singing is not a requirement for these roles.
wulfeater boys: Strong dancers. Patrons of the wulfeater. Will be casting featured dance wulfeater boys. Right wing nationalist fuck boys who work really hard at appearing like super tough hetero men, but are clearly interested in exploring their softer sides at the wulfeater.
wulfeater staff and front of house: These roles require no dance experience. These roles will primarily consist of interactive scenes before the show and during intermission. These roles will also be responsible for checking guests in and escorting them to their seats.
