ABOUT THE SHOW

ROCK THE WARNER ‘80’S STYLE! Based on the iconic film of the same name, THE WEDDING SINGER is a hilarious musical comedy that will have you partying like it’s 1985!

Meet New Jersey’s favorite wedding singer/rock-star wannabe, Robbie Hart. He’s the life of the party, until his fiancée leaves him heartbroken at the altar. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection with her innocent charm. Robbie falls hard, only to learn that Julia is about to be married to a narcissistic Wall Street shark. Can he pull off the performance of a decade and win her heart, or will Julia be lost to him forever?

Nominated for five Tony Awards®, The Wedding Singer is packed with enough music and dancing to leave you longing once more for “the decade of excess!”

Performers 16 years of age or older of all races and ethnicities, identities, and abilities are encouraged to attend.

HOW TO AUDITION

All roles are available to audition.

WHAT TO PREPARE

  • A ONE-MINUTE SONG
Actors should prepare to sing a one-minute song in the style of the show. You may either: A) Prepare a song of your choosing and bring sheet music with your cuts clearly marked or B) Sing one of the two song options found in the RESOURCES section (It’s Your Wedding Day or Someday)
  • MONOLOGUE
Please select one monologue from the provided materials to read at auditions. The selection does not need to be memorized.
  • DANCE
Please dress in clothing that allows you to move, and wear appropriate footwear you can dance in. No prior dance experience is needed – we just want to see how you express joy and fun while moving!

WHAT TO EXPECT
The dance portion of the audition will take place from 7-8pm, and actors sign up for a singing time slot either before (from 6-7pm) or after (from 8-9pm).

Please note: Actors will be considered for multiple roles, as appropriate, and may be asked to read acting slides at the audition. Physical copies of the Audition Slides will be available at the audition.
