The Arkansas Repertory Theatre is seeking a disabled female identified Equity or Non-Equity performer to submit for our 2025 Summer Stage Season production of The Glass Menagerie.
Summary
A classic American drama set in 1937 St. Louis, The Glass Menagerie follows the Wingfield family: Tom, a frustrated poet; Amanda, a faded Southern belle clinging to the past; and Laura, a shy young woman who escapes into a world of glass animals. Told through Tom’s memories, the play explores themes of family, longing, and the fragility of dreams. Intimate, lyrical, and emotionally rich, this four-character play offers powerful roles for actors with strong dramatic range.
Character Description
LAURA - Tom's sister and Amanda's daughter. Laura is deeply fragile, both emotionally and physically: she is painfully shy, and a childhood illness has left one leg slightly shorter than the other, making her walk with a limp.
