Auditions for The Cottage by Sandy Rustin (2026 Season)
Centerstage North will hold open auditions for our Winter production of The Cottage on Monday, November 10 and Tuesday, November 11 at 7:00pm, with call-backs on Wednesday, November 12 if necessary. Auditions will be held at Artisans Resource Center - Studio O, 585 Cobb Parkway SE, Marietta GA. Please bring a headshot and resume, if you have them.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.

Rehearsals will start in November at Artisans Resource Center - Studio O, 585 Cobb Parkway SE, Marietta GA. Rehearsals will be three weeknight evenings starting at 7:00pm. The exact rehearsal schedule will be discussed at auditions. There will be no rehearsals on the holidays.
Synopsis:
Sylvia and Beau find themselves in an English countryside cottage for their yearly rendezvous, and Sylvia knows this time it will be the beginning of their new life together. But when Beau demurs on a shared future, and their spouses arrive at the cottage, she realizes that this home-away-from-home is a refuge for determining a new path forward. With a tip of the hat to Noël Coward and sex comedies of the past, THE COTTAGE offers a perfect showcase for six actors with endless laughs, hilarious twists, daring physical comedy, and a happy ending for lovers everywhere.
Characters:
Sylvia (Female, mid 20’s to late 40’s, British accent): “A lovely and rash romantic” Feminine, elegant, romantic, and strong-willed. Sylvia’s attempts at true love leave her frustrated but ever hopeful. British Accent required.
Beau (Male, mid 20’s to late 40’s, British accent): “Perhaps the best looking man in Britian” Sylvia’s gallant lover, whose charisma and wit is tempered by a healthy dose of cynicism. British accent required.
Marjorie (Female, mid 20’s to late 40’s, British accent): “Eight months pregnant, pragmatic, and a tad spicy.” Beau’s wife, logical, and unflappable. Unless, of course, she’s in labor. British accent required.
Clarke (Male, late 20s to late 40s, British accent): one of the Duck Hunters. Duane’s not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but he’s trying.
Deirdre (Female, 20s to 30s, British and Cockney accent): “An awfully pretty, sometimes wise, nincompoop.” Beau’s second, surprise mistress. Guillable and sweet, Deirdre is also surprisingly capable of unexpected clarity and insight.
Richard (Male, 30’s to 40’s, British and working class accent): “A murderous, yet gentle soul.” Deirdre’s jealous ex-husband. With a seemingly brutish exterior, Richard is exposed to be a nebbish romantic, determined to hold onto his true love (no matter what).
Please note that these roles require moments of physical intimacy. An intimacy director will be working with you.
