WAY OFF BROADWAY ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR ITS
2021 SEASON-OPENER, THE PAJAMA GAME

With the holidays still to come, producers at The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre are already looking to the future and preparing for the company’s production of The Pajama Game, which will kick off the theatre’s brand new 2021 Season. Auditions for the popular musical classic have been set for Monday evening, November 9th at the theatre.

Those auditioning are asked to bring a headshot and resume, as well as 16 bars of prepared music and be ready to sing, read from the script, and dance. All roles are open and non-union paying. Those auditioning should be at least 18 years old. No appointments are necessary and an accompanist will be provided.

In The Pajama Game, conditions at the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory are anything but peaceful as sparks fly between new superintendent, Sid Sorokin, and Babe Williams, leader of the union grievance committee. Their stormy relationship comes to a head when the workers strike for a 7 ½ cent pay increase, setting off not only a conflict between management and labor, but a battle of the sexes as well. This toe-tapping, comedic love story will generate plenty of steam heat at Way Off Broadway at the beginning of the year.

The production will run January 8 – March 6, 2021, with performances every Friday and Saturday evening and matinees on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday of each month. A specific performance calendar can be found on Way Off Broadway’s website.

The Pajama Game has music and lyrics by Jerry Ross and Richard Adler, a book by George Abbott and Richard Bissell, and is based on the novel 7 ½ Cents by Richard Bissell. Way Off Broadway’s production is directed by Justin M. Kiska, with choreography by Dee Buchanan and music direction by Jordan B. Stocksdale.

Following The Pajama Game in 2021 will be productions of Oliver!, Hello, Dolly!, Clue: On Stage, and That Christmas Spirit.
