Auditions are being held for the premiere of the new rock musical, ROMERO & JULIET. The show is a mashup of Shakespeare’s tragedy, B zombie movies like “Night of the Living Dead,” and in the vein of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS.
There will be three performances, with the official opening on Friday the 13th, and with two performances on Valentine’s Day. The show will be performed at the Greer Cabaret in Pittsburgh, having recently had a successful concert premiere in New York City.
In person auditions will be held on Sunday, December 7th from 6:00-9:00 pm, with final callbacks being held on Monday, December 8th. Auditionees will be asked to sing 32 bars/1 minute of a 1980s song, appropriate for the character for which they wish to be considered.
The show was written by Scott Logsdon and Aaron Gandy, two Broadway veterans and creators of the musical THE CRINOLYNNS. Logsdon will direct with musical direction by Ben Brosche and choreography by Mike Greer.
Those unable to attend the preliminary auditions may submit electronically. A link set to “private” should be sent with an electronic headshot and resume. The auditions will be held at the Pittsburgh Savoyards, 523 Lincoln Ave, Bellevue, PA 15202
