1. MARVELOUS WONDERETTES: Created by Roger Bean

SYNOPSIS
This smash Off-Broadway hit takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom, where we meet Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy: four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts! As we learn about their lives and loves, the girls serenade us with classic ‘50s hits including “Lollipop,” “Dream Lover,” “Stupid Cupid,” and “Lipstick on Your Collar.” In Act II, the Wonderettes reunite to take the stage and perform at their ten-year reunion. We learn about the highs and lows the girls have experienced in the past decade and are charmed to find that no matter what life throws their way, they will conquer it together. Featuring over 30 classic ’50s and ’60s hits, The Marvelous Wonderettes will keep you smiling in this must-take musical trip down memory lane!

  • Tech: October 6-9, 2025

Compensation: $400/week

  • CINDY LOU (18, 28) knows she is the prettiest girl at Springfield High. She knows she will be named Prom Queen and acts out against her best friend Betty Jean when things don’t go her way. She makes the biggest change between Acts I & II, having learned the lessons of true love and loss. Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano Belt: E3–F5. Sings melody line on most songs, so the other girls hang their vocals on this voice. Among the songs she sings lead are: Allegheny Moon, Son of a Preacher Man, and Maybe.
  • MISSY (18, 28) is the over-achiever of the group. Very controlled, very concerned that everything at the prom turns out wonderful and perfect. Head of the Prom Decorations Committee, and absolutely smitten with her music teacher. Her best friend is Suzy. Vocal Range: Soprano: G3–A5. Wide range, floating high vocals and belting throughout the show. Among the songs she sings lead are: Secret Love, You Don’t Own Me, and Wedding Bell Blues.
  • BETTY JEAN (18, 28) is the class clown and tomboy, always vying for attention with Cindy Lou, her best friend. It’s also highly probable that Betty Jean wants to be with Cindy Lou herself, but just doesn’t even know what those feelings really are. Cindy Lou steals Betty Jean’s boyfriend away, which causes a lot of the friction at the prom. She holds this grudge against Cindy Lou until they make up at the ten-year reunion. Vocal Range: Alto with strong low range: D3–E5. Among the songs she sings lead are: Lipstick on Your Collar, I Only Want To Be With You, and That’s When The Tears Start.
  • ? SUZY (18, 28) is the gum-chewing, happy-go-lucky, go-along girl. Super-best friends with Missy, Suzy is always a little giddy and a little silly, and finds great pleasure in everything she does. In love with the lighting operator, completely surprised when named Prom Queen. Frustrated, sad, hormonal, and pregnant in Act II. This role requires an excellent part singer and expert comedienne. Not a stereotypical ditzy blonde. Vocal Range: Mezzo-Alto with both sweet and soulful voice: G3–E5. Among the songs she sings lead are: Stupid Cupid, Hold Me, Thrill Me, and Rescue Me.

2. STEEL MAGNOLIAS: By Robert Harling

SYNOPSIS
The action is set in Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are “anybody” come to have their hair done. Helped by her eager new assistant, Annelle (who is not sure whether or not she is still married), the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town’s rich curmudgeon, Ouiser, (I’m not crazy, I’ve just been in a bad mood for forty years); an eccentric millionaire, Miss Clairee, who has a raging sweet tooth; and the local social leader, M’Lynn, whose daughter, Shelby (the prettiest girl in town), is about to marry a “good ole boy.” Filled with hilarious repartee and not a few acerbic but humorously revealing verbal collisions, the play moves toward tragedy when, in the second act, the spunky Shelby (who is a diabetic) risks pregnancy and forfeits her life. The sudden realization of their mortality affects the others, but also draws on the underlying strength—and love—which give the play, and its characters, the special quality to make them truly touching, funny and marvelously amiable company in good times and bad.

  • ACTOR 1:
    • MO — 70s, a northeast transplant with such a sunny disposition, like he might break out in song at any moment. He’s like Jimmy Buffet in Hawaiian shirts, shorts and seems vaguely stoned / high on life.
    • BRUCE — 70s, a corporate lawyer, decisive, assertive. A sharp dresser. An avid golfer with a 10 handicap. After his wife’s recent passing, he is one of the most eligible widowers in Boca.
  • ACTOR 2:
    • MARTY — 70s, former Brooklyn boy of Romanian descent, obsessed with all things New York. A curmudgeon, who hunches like a pretzel. He’s unhappily married to Deann. He wears a Yankees hat.
    • ROBBIE — 60s, one of the sexiest Boca Bros in the development. A podiatrist, who is amiable and easygoing and 100% in love with his wife, Susan.
    • STAN — the ancient treasurer for the Condo board. Maybe he’s 90, maybe he’s 105, it’s impossible to tell. His dog is Tippy.
  • ACTOR 3:
    • SUSAN — 60s, a nice Catholic girl, Wellesley alum, former kindergarten teacher from an upscale Connecticut suburb. After all of those storytimes with children, she’s Boca’s version of Mr. Rogers, remarkably expressive in her daily life. She wears blue.
    • DEANN — 60s, former Fortune 500 CEO, everything about her is tight—her personality, her body, her face (she can no longer blink). She has a biting personality.
  • ACTOR 4:
    • JANET — 70s, the sweetest / ditziest / most innocent Boca Babe (think Betty White). She’s from Queens and on the hunt for a fourth husband in Boca. She is well-preserved by whatever means necessary (god-given or man-made). Stylish, made up, with hair well-coiffed.
    • IRIS — 70s, the sullen wife of the very sunny Mo—after 48 years of marriage, she finds his optimism oppressive. She’s no-bullshit and her dry sense of humor borders on rude.
  • ACTOR 5:
    • LOUISE — 60s, a yoga instructor who talks and walks like she’s in the studio all the time. She is in desperate need of her own spiritual awakening. She is single, fragile, on edge. She wears yoga clothes.
    • ELAINE — 70s, a feisty, straight-talking Italian divorcee. Very competent (you want a dinner party for 30 in 2 hours? Elaine’s got you covered!). Former smoker, she has three Pomeranians.
