Self-Tape Audition Submission: December 1, 2025 - January 30th, 2026
In-Person Audition/Callback Date: February 28, 2026, from 10 am-6 pm.
Performance Dates: April 29-30, 2026
(One public show and one Arts in Education show at The Center for Performing Arts at Governors State University)
ABOUT THE PLAY:
Set around the Civil War, the daughter of a wealthy Jewish merchant helps a young African American woman escape slavery, sparking events that change their lives. In a nation divided by race, religion, and politics, Eleanor and Hanna face war, loss, and betrayal in their quest for freedom.
ABOUT THE PRODUCTION:
This is a workshop production in front of an audience in The Center for Performing Arts. All rehearsals will be held on the Governors State University campus.
Pay varies based on the role.
This is a non-equity workshop production.
CASTING:
PREPARATION:
Auditionees are asked to either submit a self-tape or attend the in-person auditions and
complete the audition form.
Self-Tape: Auditioners will need to submit an audition self-tape that is no longer than 3 minutes in length and complete the DIVIDED audition form. Self tapes are to include the following:
All self-tapes are to be sent to Production Manager,
Staci Corum by January 30, 2026 by 11:59pm.
Auditionees submitting self-tapes will be expected to attend callbacks.
In-Person Auditions: Auditionees should prepare 32 bars of a song in the style of musical theatre or pop, whatever best shows their voice and storytelling.
Callbacks: Auditionees should expect to cold-read sides from the show and learn and perform about 23 bars of music from DIVIDED.
