CORTLAND REPERTORY THEATRE ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR 45th SEASON

Cortland Repertory Theatre is announcing local auditions for the upcoming 45th annual summer season in 2016. Auditions will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, January 29 – 31 from 10:00 - 4:00 each day at CRT Downtown, 24 Port Watson Street, Cortland.

Productions include:

Spring production at CRT Downtown:

“I Am My Own Wife”: a one-man dramatic play.

Summer productions at the Little York Pavilion:

· “The Fox on the Fairway”: an American farce;

· “West Side Story”: the classic musical based on “Romeo and Juliet”;

· “A Chorus Line”: the iconic musical about an audition for a Broadway show;

· Agatha Christie’s “Cards on the Table”: a murder mystery;

· “The Kitchen Witches”: a comedy about a cable-access cooking show;

· “The Marvelous Wonderettes”: a 4-female musical revue featuring the music of the 1950’s and 60’s.

Those individuals interested in auditioning should pre-register for a specific time by visiting the theatre’s website at
www.cortlandrep.org, and clicking on the Employment button at the top of the home page. Walk-ins will be seen if time allows. Please note that there are no roles in this season for children under the age of 19.

These will be the only local auditions CRT will hold this year. If cast, actors must be available for both daytime and evening rehearsals. Season dates run from May 23 - Sept 10. Rehearsal and performance dates vary depending on show. More information can be found on the website.

· Primarily seeking non-union actors. All roles in all shows open. Seeking a variety of types and ages, all nationalities. Cortland Repertory Theatre is an equal opportunity employer.

· Please bring a current, non-returnable photo and resume, with phone number and email address.

· For the plays: Please prepare one 1 - 2 minute comedic monologue. British dialect required for “Cards on the Table”.

· For the musicals: Please bring your own sheet music. Pianist will be provided. Prepare 16 measures of an uptempo and ballad in an appropriate style of the shows. Be prepared to sing more if asked.

· Auditionees may be asked to read from provided scripts, and may be asked to attend a dance callback for “West Side Story” and “A Chorus Line”. Dance callbacks will be held each day at 4:00 PM.

· Due to time restraints, CRT rarely arranges private auditions.
