New Zealand Music Theatre Company and Auckland Live Present MUSIC THEATRE UNLEASHED

New Zealand Music Theatre Company's newest performance initiative Music Theatre Unleashed, is a music theatre showcase coming to you from The Civic as part of the Auckland Live Cabaret Season.

Music Theatre Unleashed is 90-minutes (with interval) of high-quality entertainment starring New Zealand's leading performers in what we believe to be the first professional music theatre cabaret featuring 100 per cent Kiwi writers.

This stunning line-up of all Kiwi contemporary music theatre songs includes works by Luke Di Somma (That Bloody Woman), Brayden Jeffrey and Adam Spedding (Schlunted, She'll Be Right - A Zombie Romp!) Cally Castell, Jessie Leov, Marley Richards, William Green and Erin Fagan.

The stellar cabaret season cast includes industry professionals Jane Leonard, Cherie Moore, Sammie Campbell, Renaye Tamati, Rutene Spooner and Jonathan Martin.

Set in Auckland's grandest theatre venue, The Civic's Wintergarden features a baby grand piano, sophisticated styling and the vibe of a New York cabaret performance venue right here in the heart of Auckland City. The venue setting, combined with our professional line-up of artists will provide a cabaret showcase experience unlike any other.

Music Theatre Unleashed places a strong focus on the storytelling and narrative both in the selection of material and artists. Music material is curated by the Music Theatre Unleashed curator and director, Ryan Jacobs (BFA in Music Theatre - New World School of Performing Arts in Miami, FL), in conjunction with the music director, Mark Bradley (City of 100 Lovers, Aladdin The Musical).

In a climate where professional music theatre work is scarce, New Zealand Music Theatre Company prides itself on providing paid opportunities for our local music theatre performers, musicians and composers.
