It was announced today that JERSEY BOYS – The Story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons – has smashed the all-time box office record for a second week of trading by taking in excess of $NZ1.9 million gross, beating previous records by over $NZ500,000. This phenomenal demonstration of support by New Zealanders for this internationally acclaimed musical falls at the same time that JERSEY BOYS notches up its 1,000th performance in Australasia on Thursday 26 April.

Rodney Rigby, Producer, said "We are thrilled that New Zealand continues to embrace the great story of four guys from the wrong side of the tracks. The 1,000th show of JERSEY BOYS not only marks the great success of the production in New Zealand and Australia, but, of equal importance, recognizes the outstanding contribution of everybody associated with the production worldwide."

JERSEY BOYS opened in Melbourne in July 2009 and played for 13 months before transferring to Sydney in September 2010. Over 1,000,000 people saw the show in Melbourne and Sydney by the close of run in December 2011. Following the season in Auckland JERSEY BOYS will play in Brisbane and Adelaide.

JERSEY BOYS opens at Queensland Performing Arts Centre's (QPAC's) Lyric Theatre from Friday 13 July 2012. Tickets on sale now via qpac.com.au or call 136 246.
