Beijing Opera is a centuries-old art form that is rarely seen outside of China; to many it is a unique chance to this world famous performances in Netherlands. The 60-strong company is composed of the best Chinese artists who from childhood training in the specific style of the Peking Opera.
Beijing Opera is a colorful combination of traditional music and song, dance art, poetry, acrobatics and martial arts. Symbolism plays a very important role and is expressed by means of stylized acts and gestures, but also in the colors of makeup and costumes.
The combination of the different disciplines, the splendid costumes, the beautiful headdresses and colorful makeup, makes the Beijing Opera to an unforgettable spectacle not to be missed. Not for nothing was this theatre form in 2010 by Unesco to the list of "intangible cultural heritage of humanity".
