Queen of the Netherlands To Open DeLaMar Theater 11/28

The Queen of the Netherlands will be present to officially open Amsterdam's DeLaMar Theater. The opening will take place on Sunday November 28th.

According to the theater's site, the venue will open after a five year construction period. "The Theatre offers a wide audience a varied program of plays, cabaret, musicals, theater and family several international shows. In total there are upcoming theater season of 543 performances over 50 different manufacturers."

The programming of the DeLaMar Theatre focuses on high-quality theater in the tradition of the former Nieuwe de la Mar Theater, which closed its doors in 2005. The DeLaMar Theatre, building up upon a long tradition of cultural entrepreneurship. That tradition dates back to 1947, the year in which private theater was founded by the husband of actress Fien de la Mar. The DeLaMar Theatre gets a Grand Café and two halls with a total of 1500 seats.
